Thornbridge, Bakewell, UK + Siren, Wokingham, UK – Vida, Brut IPA, 6%, 330ml bottle.
Brut IPA is still doing the rounds, dry and light in body with wonderfully fruity hop aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit and elderflower. From two of the UK’s best breweries.
Moor, Bristol, UK – Slovenia’Hop, Pale Ale, 4.1%, 330ml can.
Another twist in the latest hop variety from Moor, this time from Slovenia. Kolihbri and Dragon hops give this ultra pale ale a tang that will leave you refreshed.
Tiny Rebel, Newport, UK – Rhubarb & Custard Sour, 4%, 330ml can.
Leaders in the sweetshop style beer market, it’s another familiar flavour combo but in a light sour beer. The sharp rhubarb is mellowed out nicely by the sweet, creamy, vanilla custard notes.
Brasserie de la Senne, Brussels, Belgium – Brussels Calling, Belgian Pale Ale, 6%, 330ml bottle.
Brussels Calling is a Belgian Pale Ale brewed by the excellent Brasserie de la Senne who never fail to please. Showcasing a fruity yeast character with spicy, herbaceous hop notes and a bitter finish.
Lervig, Stavanger, Norway – Easy, DDH Pale, 4.5%, 330ml can.
Lervig! We had Easy on tap at our recent tap takeover, it went so fast that even we nearly missed it! A superb DDH pale ale loaded up with Mosaic and Citra hops from America.
Oedipus, Amsterdam, Netherlands – Slomo, Grisette, 3.5%, 330ml bottle.
Amsterdam is famous for lots of things, but Oedipus are fast becoming one of those things with their excellent beers and eye catching branding. Slomo has an incredible story, if you’ve got a bit of spare time we recommend watching the video here: http://oedipus.com/beer/slomo-2/
Pohjala, Tallinn, Estonia – Kosmos, IPA, 5.5%, 330ml bottle.
When Pohjala set up and drafted in little Chris from Brewdog, taking him back to his homeland, I knew good things would happen. Kosmos has bags of tropical fruits and fresh citrus. A juicy east coast American style IPA.
If you chose ‘I like all beers’
Siren Craft Brew, Wokingham, UK – Irish, Wee Heavy with barrel-aged coffee, 7.4%, 330ml bottle.
Hope you like Irish coffee… A wee heavy, or scotch ale as its also known. A big complex malt bill brings flavours of caramel, bread, toffee, nuts, fruitcake. Throw some bourbon barrel aged coffee and heather honey in and hey presto!
If you chose ‘No dark beers’
Northern Monk, Leeds, UK – Origin, Gluten free IPA, 5.7%, 330ml can.
A new addition to Northern Monk’s core range, Origin. It’s a nod to the original IPA’s that we fell in love with, piney, juicy, crisp and gluten free to boot!
